The Study That's Not

Just how many times are communities expected to take being let down...Brookdale, Bellvue, Wagerup and Esperance to name just a few. We have been fighting for years to get answers as to what's in the Air, Water and Soil, the departments that are responsible for supplying this information will only supply false promises.
.
Another study "Air Toxics" or as industry would prefer "Air Quality" looks to be falling by the way-side, due to financial cuts it will be another half hearted attempt at hood winking the public.
This make my blood boil, we have a right to know what the communities are being exposed to on a daily basis.
.
The Kwinana strip generates approximately $18 billion a year, so what is going to the areas their pollution effects. Why is it such a chore for the DEC to carry out an Air Toxic's study, to monitor the pollutants that have caused great concern for residents from Cockburn to Rockingham. It would make sense to carry out a proper study on HAZARDOUS pollutants, particularly carcinogenic compounds supplying answers once and for all...or is government already aware?

It's time this so called government woke up to the fact they are care takers for the "PEOPLE"

we are fed up with their games. The only cuts that should be made are those to salaries of the

"claytons" politicians.

Hey there Enviro,
I wondered what had happened to you. So nothing has changed, the government are still playing a need to know basis, & have decided you don't need to know.

The only way I can see communities getting a fair go & true study done, is to raise the necessary funding needed for a private company.

We had reach this conclusion last year, we contacted a couple of places who are open to our plight & are working to keep costs to a minimum.

"Claytons" is a polite description of this bunch, what a let down Grylls turned out to be.

Catch you later

Had a fair bit on the plate lately Firefly, but try to get a blog done when I can.

Communities have been getting screwed for years, send Grylls your bill you should be covered
under Royalties for Regions.

Have to agree Steve, definately both and to think tax payers are continually paying through the nose. A 2 year old could do better.

why does politics attreact a certain type of person. One who has no compassion for those affected by pollutants, one who will strive to accommodate industry no matter the outcome. Dont they realise that we are walking in the footsteps of the dinosaurs ? Keep going down this road and the only humans on the planet will be mutations in 1000 years from now. Those greedy people wont care, they will long be dead and gone. Are we ever going to find some 'decent' people who will get up there and take care of u s, use our taxes to benefit us not their own h iop pockets...

In response to "Her" I have know politicians that after 12months change their way, or leave altogether.

What really irks me is they claim to represent the people, which people? We should be able to have them up on fraud, why are our hard earned taxes thrown at industries?

The companies get a free ride with free permits, in return we recive higher priced utilities and pollution.
